It can be built up to look quite nice if given the proper care!! Good luck with it!!:sunglasse white97ex 09-07-2004, 08:48 PM thanx guys. i've either got to find a hobby shop to get some supplies at or order some from HLJ or somethin. before i get too deep into this CamaroSSBoy346 09-07-2004, 09:02 PM Yea, i've built this kit. Truthfully, its right on par with the Revell MUstang Convertable kit (which isnt saying much.) Problems were typical AMT problems. Also, its a little under detailed, and it actually seems quite small compared to my other kits If your're interested..heres some links The Build Up: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=260806&highlight=1988+Mustang The Finished Product: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=272422&highlight=1988+Mustang This is what it will build up like Stock: http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_images/5/web/533000-533999/533373_243_full.jpg white97ex 09-07-2004, 10:47 PM well it is getting five star drag wheels. similar to convo's. i just ordered the stuff to scratch build the hood and sub-frame connectors....gonna use your tutorial. im wainting on some more pictures. there will be an 8 pt roll cage, nitrous, im lookin for some e/t streets. anyone know where i can get some white97ex 09-12-2004, 12:44 PM well, not much progress here. i finally got all the parts in primer. still waiting on my supplies so i can start fabbing up the roll cage and the hood scoop. white97ex 09-22-2004, 06:29 PM finally made some progress i got the cowl pretty much done...all it needs is some finish work with putty. i know, its huge but look at the inspiration for the car, everything is bigger in texas! :naughty: http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/1082088hood.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/10820nealcowl1-edit-med.JPG 86_SR5 09-22-2004, 06:43 PM Must be a lift off hood, unless its forward tilting. Are you going to make the front match your friends? It has the cobra insert it looks like. The mustang she's building is getting a scratch built turbo system with a BIG single turbo, metal exhaust, has a cowl hood done, interior has a 6 point cage (might become an 8 point but still not sure). interior has a rearseat delete, racing seats, custom gauges, etc..etc... Its taking a long time to finish but it is goign to be a suprise for our friend. His car has run 9.6 in the 1/4 and it's getting faster (i think his best 1/8th mile is 5.8-5.9ish). William white97ex 09-29-2004, 10:28 PM sweet. i was lookin for the 93 cobra kit, and i couldn't find one anywhere around here. the only one i found was online and they wanted 20 bucks for it. most of my money right now is going for my mach 1. as for the front bumper, i dont know if its a cobra or not. im not real big on mustangs, lol. but i opened up the front grille like his. but the rear is a cobra. its stayin GT. and the rear lights aren't the same. this will be gettin a cage and a nitrous set up and some racing seats. white97ex 09-30-2004, 12:41 AM well i got some more info on the car tonight, so i started work on the 7 qt oil pan. sorry bout the lack of pictures....its kind of a pain to take them with my phone, email them to myself, then post them. white97ex 10-01-2004, 01:34 AM well this is kind of on the back burner. im focusing on the mach 1 right now. funds are low. so i am scratchbuilding as much as possible for this kit. so it is taking me a while to figure things out. its coming along tho. hopefully sunday there will be good enough light to get some good quality pics for you guys white97ex 10-07-2004, 09:32 PM anyone still watchin this? i got some of the chassis painted. and assembled. hopefully it will be nice the next 3 or 4 days and i can finish the body and get some good pics for you guys. im thinking about making a photo booth, that way i can get good pictures inside. teh oil pan is almost done, he told me the other night, after runnin 6.86 at 100 mph in the 8th that he is thinking of going turbo. so im kinda waiting to see if that goes through before i finish the kit. 99civichic 10-08-2004, 12:25 AM I took the pics I posted of my Shelby Hertz at my office, on a big white piece of paper with flourescent overhead lightning and the pictures came out nicely without the use of a flash. As long as you have enough light to avoid using the flash, and have a light-colored and uncomplicated background, indoor pictures should come out okay. Looking forward to more pics! I need to start working on my 5.0 custom build again... white97ex 10-11-2004, 10:18 PM well i got the front suspension together. but i wasn't able to get a picture today while i was taking them of my mach 1. i ran out of time. i did get a picture of the wheels last night though. enjoy http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/1082088wheels.JPG primera man 10-12-2004, 04:50 AM Hope to see some more pics up soon to keep us informed. white97ex 10-12-2004, 10:58 AM p-man, nice to see a great modeler such as yourself checking out my work. i'll get some pics tomorrow. i'm off all day, and it looks like the weather is going to be nice white97ex 10-13-2004, 02:54 PM well with the mach 1 nearing completion (expect a completed thread in the next day or so) i have started back on the 88. i have some pictures for you guys. lots of pictures. enjoy http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/108207qt2.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/108207qt1.JPG that is the 7 qt oil pan, i scratch built the kick-out http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/108205_0-2.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/108205_0-1.JPG engine with pan attached. i got some MCG plug wires. might try to wire this one. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/1082088frontsusp.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/1082088int.JPG vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
