how can i pimp out my car?

something has been boggling my mind for a while. i own an 89' Buick Park Avenue (a granny car :P), and i need to know is there any possible way to really pimp it out, and get some heads turning, or jaw dropping. to me it just seems almost impossible to do, just because of the style of car it is. any ideas or thoughts let me know, especially if you know alot about this style of car

i am looking for another car, so if you have any tips on the best type of cars to pimp out thats affordable then let me know.

Well its possable to pimp out any ride. Look at the body lines , moldings , wheels and bumpers. Think of a theme , think simple at first try to picture it with different trim themes 2 tone paint jobs ect.... Use your imagination. Look at the interior can you shag the headliner? shag some of the vinyl , dye some trim to be incorporated with your new exterior theme add some mood lights. Use your Imagination.

well i guess ill have to take one step at a time, it needs ALOT of work. the week i picked it up to drive i had to replace an exaust valve, then i had to replace gas tank, now i gotta replace the seats, floor carpet, gotta fix the scratches, and dent in back bumper, new brakes, drums, rotors, motor has 144k on it, same with Tranny, needs new paint job, i think im just gonna wait for a new ride, like get a new ride and park it in my garage and work on that one until this one dies on me then ill start driving that. But i do love the 3.8 engine in my car, its very durable, not no street racing engine but its reliable. as far as my next car i have no idea what im gonna get, one car i would love to have is a newer Mustang, or the older style like 68'-73' mach 1 or something like that.

yeah, where im from (MI) its very hard to find a decent looking muscle car (or any car for that matter) that is in good condition without rust, so down the road ill travel down south like Arkansas or Texas and find me one. If i cant get a Mustang, i would settle with a Chevelle, i love Muscle Cars a lot more than street racing cars, but thats just me.

well if you want to "pimp" your ride, this is what i would recommend, it really depends on your budget. First if its not black, get it painted black. get a 20-30% tint all the way around, get some nice rims, preferably 17's, possibly underbody neons like 93rollaracer said, i would recommend blue, and then a decent system. Then if you do get underbody neons, i would say go with leds not neons, they last longer and dont break as easy. Depending on the color, if you do go with blue, for your interior, make all the trim pieces and selected pieces like vents and such blue also, so you have a matching color sceme wow i cant spell. Then a nice system. You can go on ebay, get a cheap set of blue led underglow for 14.99 + 35.99 shipping so a total of like 55 or something around there, then a pyle 1400 watt amp for 86.95 + 19.95 shipping, 8 gauge wiring kit 8.95+8.95sh, then some sony xplodes 1500 watt peak, 750 rms for 59 + 30 sh, for the system a total of 213.00 so now your around 268 for a system and underglow, now you can install this your self, keep in mind this a a completely cheap setup and may only last 1 year minimum at its maximum potential, the subs will start sounding a little quiter, blah blah blah then you can go to a local place that paints, get a really cheap paintjob for 100-300 dollars or you can sand your car your self, buy some black primer and primer sealer, and start spraying, then go to a tint shop for 100-160$ you can have a complete tint. all that is left is rims, you can get a nice set of rims off ebay or even from a local shop for around 400-$600, if you really want to save money, find out what rims you have on now, and simply get the same exact size so then you can just change the tires over and have them balanced for around 20-40 dollars. and thats it you have a simple yet cheap pimped out ride.

don't get that underglow, it would look tacky as hell, also, being blue, its thoroughly illegal.

underbody neon laws - isn't there another thread on this? really depends on the city and state you live in.

and yesh we need to know what your budget is. if you have a big budget, get hydrolics (if thats how u spell it) so you can bounce up n down, then u'd be pimpin.

And if you have a stock engine and you got some cash, no worries...

jus get NAWWWWWWWSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

dunt blow ur engine tho!

But anywho:

1. System - mentioned above, don't go too cheap if you want it to last

2. Lighting - i put a blacklight neon on my dash makes everything glow all sweet n stuff. You can get neon just about anywhere, and hide the wiring etc.

3. Paintjob - black is nice, i'm painting my car the stock color which is charcoal grey, almost the same as black

4. Wheels - SPINNERS!!! Even if they're walmart lol.

NOTE: it might be tacky, but if you like it then give the car love baby yea! Shag-a-wagon today!

the more you do to that car, the more you will get laughed at. not icking on you, just saving you. with the money you would use to put into that, put into to something nicer so you can pimp it out.

it all depends man. A car that would be thought not to be pimped out, actually pimped out can gain some serious respect. For me its all about originality.

I currently have a 96 buick regal gs that i am restyling the interior on. I am doing a theme based around the old skool buick power 6 emblem. I am incorporating them into the headliner, door panels, etc. Andi am redooing the interior black and gray.

I agree w/ lckycharm.. when I see like an 83 corolla with chrome hubcaps, light up windshield washer nozzles, underbody neons, fart tube, and bolt on spoiler, all I can do is laugh because they spent 300 dollars on stupid things, and they still have a stupid car. The people with ugly cars that dont waste their money on it, usually end up saving all their cash and buying something nice to make all the people that hated on their car jealous. People recognize cheap stuff on cheap cars, and youll look like a cheap bastard. believe that.

Paint is flat black, Put it on air-bags, tint the windows 5%, put on wheels of your choice, and your set to go.

Oh, and it could use a built 454 (or similar) engine!

agreed, sell the car, for the money go buy some kind of domestic car such as a neon, and customize it. Neons are pretty cheap, have 2.0L as opposed to a honda 1.5 or 1.6 and are widely and easily customizable. I own a neon myself but did not buy it because it is cheap, i bought it knowing it's potential. Right now it's really coming into a show car status and I have barely put in over a Grand into it. Depending on whether or not you want a street tuner or a Pimp-mobile, it really depends. But often there is a fine line between a pimped car and a wannabe rice grandma buick. My first car was a buick Regal Custom, I put mods in the engine to make it a sleeper, as if it wasnt already fast enough. Its not much to look at, but some buicks have some GO. But if you are like me, you will go for Styling over performance. Style can give an impression of a nice car, and turns heads quicker than engine mods. Afterall, there are such things as speed limits....WHICH LIMIT the engine mods. With the right Exterior mods, you can turn the heads of everybody...hopefully to say "WOW". Good luck!

I would go for a newer car if you want to "pimp" it. Mustangs and Chevelle's( you mentioned them) can be made modern and cool looking but it costs quite a bit. I don't know why you would put shag carpet as a headliner anyway. I quess I am one to defend the muscle car though.
