I have a 93 RX-7 with a auto tranny in it and I am looking at buying a used Japanese motor that comes with a manual tranny. Does anyone know if this is a direct fit as far as the motor mounts, tranny mounts, wiring harness, etc... I know I need to get different brake pedal and a clutch pedal and linkage installed but I don't see that being to difficult. If anyone has done this or know of someone who has done it, please let me know how I can contact them to pick their brain.

well you could just skip all that crap and put an Ls-1 in it. its alot cheaper in the long run trust me$$$. on the second motor i was about to sell it but then i saw a ls1 conversion and then i changed my mind. i dont care what anybody says it just cheaper and less upkeep.and you actually get 350lb of torque and horses with the stock c5 ls1. just look at hinsonsupercars. trust me

Thanks for the info and the links, I finally got it back from the shop and I am still having some issues with leaks from the PS pump and exhaust leaks at the motor before the turbos. It has been a complete disaster and if anyone is thinking about doing a swap I would recommend you sell your auto and buy a standard. I also did a motor swap so that is where I have had most of the problems. Thanks again for the info and for you with the ls1, go post your BS on the slowmaro site.

the only thing i'd get for my rx from a chevy would be a T56 :D but with a new internals to accomodate the rotarys powerband
