Just bought my S10 last week :)biabia 09-02-2004, 05:36 PM I always wanted an Ext cab S10, but I always found them to be too expensive. So, for the past few weeks I have been looking to buy a truck for my business in car audio (honda couldn't haul stuff for shit). I was looking at the last place for the day and I saw it. 1996 Tan S10, ext cab - 4cyl 2.2L, A/C works great, gears work great, etc,. Interior was in horrible shape, engine was in great shape though, which is what matters. Anyways, they wanted 2,590 for it and I offered them 2,000 and they took it. I got extremely lucky with the purchase. Came out to a little less than 2,200 for the truck after taxes and tag transfer. Few things I wanted to do to it were get new door panels and carpet first, to dress it up a little bit. I have the money, but I need to find the actual pieces. So next week (after this really bad Hurricane that is coming through), I plan on going to the junk yard to find some panels that'll fit mine and I am going to go with black carpet, which I'll put in myself (father lays carpet). Funny thing about my door panels... they don't even match, they're totally different panels but you cant tell unless you look directly at them. After I get that set in, I am going to order my stereo system and install. Full Resonant Engineering sound system going in. Subwoofers will be 12 RE8s with about 1800-2000w pumping to them. RE Components, and for amp, I am going to settle with a Hifonics Brutus bx1500d amp until I get the cash for a Resonant Engineering amp. For Headunit I plan on buying a Pioneer DEH-P3500-8600 depending on what I find for pricing. I am going to sound deaden my entire cab with Secondskin Audio damplifier and STFU-80, also putting in Motor Mat inside my engine bay so I can lower my engine noise. What I like about this, is that I have enough to do almost everything right now. After selling my Civic, and finding this wonderful deal on the S10, I can. As for the motor, I want to eventually swap a v8 in it. I don't know how hard it will be, or how much money, but after watching the show "Trucks" on spikeTV, I saw them put an ls1 motor in a Chevy s10 and I instantly loved it. "Nothing like putting Vette grills in your rear view mirror" :) :). Thats all I can think about posting right now, I'm going to take pics as soon as I get back to my dads house. I need to replace the fuel filter/pump (whichever it is that needs to be replaced right now). -Alex busa_4 09-03-2004, 10:17 AM What They Dont Tell You On "trucks" Is The Ls1 Conversion Cost Somewhere Around 10,000.00. Thats Just For The Engine And Tranny. :( BlazerLT 09-03-2004, 12:06 PM standard 350 will swap right in the same. Don't need an LS1. Too bad you got the 4 banger. biabia 09-03-2004, 04:20 PM Well, I know for sure that I'm going to study before I buy anything. I was just saying ;) -Alex vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
