1995 Dodge Ram 1500 Running Hotcindimcchristian 09-02-2004, 05:29 PM Can someone please tell me why my truck is running hot? I have replaced both the upper and lower radiator hoses, replaced the water pump, put two new thermostats in it and had the radiator flushed twice. I also put a new radiator cap on it. The water pump went out a few months ago, and since it did, there has been the sound of water somewhere in my dash! Why...I haven't a clue. Can anyone help???? BleedDodge 09-03-2004, 10:25 AM You need a heater core. indyram 09-04-2004, 12:48 AM I have been told too that if you don't use a mopar thermostat it might not always work right. I needed to replace mine and used a superstat, which didn't work very well, changed to a mopar and it worked better. I'm not sure what the deal was, but just for future reference. BleedDodge 09-07-2004, 02:31 AM The rad might also just be shot and need recoring. The way I think, if any part of the cooling system needs replacing, the whole cooling system needs replacing. By that I mean hoses, thermostat, recore the rad, new heater core, antifreeze of course. It's just all something that will eventually have to be done, so I just do it all at once and it gives me peace of mind. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
