Excessive window fogging!!!

Hate to post someting like this here but it's driving me crazy! I have had two 93 Camry and I have excessive window fogging at night. Even during the day, there seem to be a film on the glass. I've tried to clean the inside with all types of cleaners but with no luck. The fog/film still returns. I drive with a permanent cleaning cloth on the dash as I have to wipe the glass on every trip. I live in California and it's dry and warm here. Anyone else have this occur. Any suggestions? Thanks.

That can happen if the fresh air control is set to "Recirculate" rather than fresh outside air. Other than that, have you noticed your coolant level going down? If it is, then you could have a leak in the heater core. Any wetness on the carpet under the dash?

As don24mac said, make sure you are bringing in outside air. Unless you have a leak or soaked floor mats from leaving your window open, this will solve your problem.

recirculating the air can make it worse. Make sure it is kept on fresh air instead. Also, one of the best ways to clean/remove that film is by using an insideout sweatshirt or an old stuffed animal. The fibers are less likely to smear it than a papertowel or regular terrycloth towel.

We moved to Washington State a few years ago and our Camry also fogged constantly. What helped us, was to use outside air, as many here have stated. The thing that really helped was adjusting the ventilation to part defrost/part panel. Our Tundra has the same problem, but with outside air and the split ventilation fogging isn't a problem in either car (and we had spent a fortune on anti-fogging products before learning these 2 things.) I need to have either cold or warm air blowing to prevent the fogging problem. Good luck!!
