Lift trunk lid & WATER drenchs everything??Bmaintz 08-31-2004, 09:02 AM I own a '92 & '94 Camry & they both do it as well as a '95 Camry that I sold... After a rain or car wash you open the trunk & water pours out of the tail light assemblys into your trunk.... I have drilled small holes into the bottom of the tail light assemblys with no good results... Is there a FIX for this problem??? P-Ba 08-31-2004, 10:45 AM I think its from water behind the garnish panel. If its that much of a hassle, take off the garnish panel and put paper towels behind it :) Boro fixes all! I just open mine half way, close it down, open it half way again until all the water it out. Neinta 09-02-2004, 12:59 PM P-Ba is right. most likely the water is being held behind the garnish panel. I just open mine part way and let the water drain out before opening it all the way. Bmaintz 09-02-2004, 03:19 PM I was wondering if you could drill some small holes for it to drain.... wmcot 09-06-2004, 11:01 PM I had a similar problem on my older (89) Camry after a bit of minor rear-end bodywork. The problem was a small gap at the top of the tail light assembly. I removed the light assembly and applied a thin bead of clear silicone around it - no more wet trunk! I don't know if this applies to newer Camrys, but I thought it couldn't hurt to pass it along...
