96 JGC 4.0 ltr
Ok not sure exactly how to explain this... but here goes..
I recently replaced the batttery , tps and crank position sensor..(i think thats waht it was called -- rather exp.) but.. lately...
On my way home from work..( i am in sfla so it has been very very hot in the afternoon -- not sure if temp has anything to do with it but) after @ 15-20min of stop n go driving the engine will start acting like its " gas starved " i can hit the gas and the truck just wont go...sometimes it will just not rev.. or start to rev then die down... I also think i may hear it misfiring in the engine..sometimes..
In the morning i usually take the freeway to work and i have no problems.. a little quiker drive, its cooler in the morning not sure if this matters or not though...
The place that did the above work also did a "fuel injection cleaning and replaced the fuel filter" Truck was running great for about 3wks and now this... UGH !
any tips / suggestions/ ideas to try ?
thanks
Dave

I guess i am looking for everypossiblity to check befroe spending @ 500 buck on a fuel pump replacement

Fuel pumps are notorious for going out on the GC. But a shop should be able to check the fuel pressure before diagnosing the pump as the culprit. Since it seems to be heat related there is a sensor for intake air temp maybe it's acting up? But I'd have it checked before replacing anything. You hate to start throwing money at an unidentified problem.
