HELP EMERGENCY! 2" RAIN in my car-is it ruined?

Last night I left open my windows and sunroof on my 2001 solara. The leather seats were drenched and the carpets were fully saturated. I have a fan in the car right now. But the weather for the next fews days is rainy so I dont think the car will dry out at all. I think it may get mildew and also maybe rust. Is the car ruined? Someone suggested that I dry the car and then trade it is otherwise it is going to rust and be ruined. Is this true? Is it ruined? HELP!!!!

Well I can't say for sure at all, but that same type of thing happened to my dad's truck. We took a shop vac. and got as much water out as possible, then a small furniture shampoo vac. and just used it to get the rest of the water out of the carpet. After that we just left a couple huge fans on it for a day or two. He didn't end up with any rust or mildew that we know of.

I had this happen already. You need to suck up as much water as you can with the shop vac and even take out the carpets if you can. Your biggest problems will be rust in the floorpan and mildew/mold. That's why it is essential to make sure you get the car dried out completely.

most floor pans on cars are covered with a tar like supstance so i dont thin rust will be a probley, they sell this stuff DAMPRID it's sopposed to absored moisture

if the interior is really bad maybe you should call your insurance
