Where is the EGR valve?

Where is this valve and what doest it do? I am haveing a hesitation problem and have read several threads that say to check it and clean it. I have a 1988 2.3liter sierra.

Sorry dude..GM did not put in a 2.3 liter engine in the sierra
The EGR valve is an emission valve that "recycles" exhaust gases back into the compustion chamber to reduce emissions.

Well thats great. I am new to this engine and was thinking that valve would be a problem but since I don't have one no worries. What else could cause a hesitation in this engine. Changed plugs yesterday and put injector cleaner in today.
