Heading out to my truck this evening and I find a brand new Ford Explorer has parked it's grill under my spare tire carrier (back of my hatch) also known as The Turd. First I was surprised that the dumbass had left their Explorer in contact with my truck. I checked out the reinforced steel cross section, but no bending. The plastic grill on the Explorer had cracked from the impact right where the Ford emblem was.

I hung around to see who the idiot was, but they never showed up. No harm, no foul (but unfortunately no pictures either). :eek:

That's easy Chuck, just drive up the hill near my house. When there's traffic I invariably end up stopped at the steepest part, and those dumwitted fuckwads who can't fathom the idea that a stick-and-clutch vehicle is sitting in front of them drive right up underneath my spare tire (so it seems). It's impossible to not roll back at least a little bit when trying to take off ... I know that doesn't say much for my brake/clutch/gas feet-speed but I'm used to having a real legitimate HAND brake, not that weirdo lever thingy we have to pull out. Who's retarded idea was that anyways? I gotta learn to heel-toe my brake/gas pedals :D

I found the parking brake strange when I first got my X but now I'm pretty use to it.

I find I don't have to many problems with the hills and a manual tranny (On road anyway). I think many years of driving up to the top of Peel St in Montreal trained me well.

I like the hand brake where it is...you can modulate the amount of brake yo need to get both rear wheels to spin, aka The Schud method!!!

I remember looking down it during that ice storm in '97, it was like a scene from an all woman's driving school lol! Just kidding ladies.

A manager at a Nissan dealer told me the moved the Ebrake to the foot position because that's what Xterra owners asked for. Who in the hell are these people asking? Who in the hell are the idiots giving those answers?

Rick, if you go try out the '02, just think of that left-most pedal as a second clutch. Press it in all the way and forget about it, press the other clutch, put it in first, dump the go pedal down all the way and drop the clutch. Let us know how it goes. :p

The brake pedal on the 02 SUCKS. I got no where to put my big 'ol foot. I like the sound deadening though. It felt less truck-like and the SC didnt seem to make anything but noise until 40mph. Instruments panel is bugger to see in the sun too.

Not a bad rig. I sat in Boarderboys when it was dying at Sand Lake. Quite plush. He was doing very well considering his rig was stock. The stock 00's and 01's werent faring as good for some reason.
