Where is MAF in 94 Ranger 3.0?geojim 08-29-2004, 08:10 PM My daughter has a '94 Ranger XLT with 3.0 engine and manual trans. It misses and hesitates, especially when the engine is cold. Very noticeable just when you shift gears, the performance turns to mush and then picks up. At speed, it feels like its missing, or hesitating. The Check Engine light came on, then went off. I have been checking the forum for most likely cause. So far it seems to be: MAF, fuel filter, MAP, and TPS. She had normal tune-up stuff done recently. She doesn't have much money since coming back from Iraq, so I'm trying to do some leg work for her. To start with: can someone describe where the MAF sensor is and what is required to remove it so it can be cleaned/checked? Thanks, Jim splashiod 08-30-2004, 09:52 AM should be just after the airfilter, with 1 eletrical connection. Took it out and found that one of the elements had some dirt/carbon on it. Cleaned it off and I think the truck runs better, but my daughter is going to have to drive it and tell me for sure. I did get a fuel filter and plan on changing that as I think it has been awhile. Third in line to check is the MAP, if I can find it. Wait a minute, does the 1994 Ranger have a MAP sensor? Thanks again. Jim vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
