I think there should be a way to close old polls, whether it be manually by mods or automatically after a certain period of time. So many dead threads get brought back to the top just by someone voting on a really old thread. Even if the thread is still open and just teh ability to vote on the polls were closed. Just an idea.

actually, the mods close the polls that have been open for longer than 15 days or so(unless that thread warrents having the poll open for longer) we get the ones that we notice, and unfortunately we don't always notice old polls right away.
