HVAC fan setting "2" not workingdavejakes 08-27-2004, 10:25 AM Hi, 2001 Silverado 4x4. The fan motor doesn't run on setting 2. 1,3,4,5 all work fine. Any ideas? Thanks to all for all the posts here. Very helpful. traildog1 08-27-2004, 08:16 PM Under the dash on the right side you will find the blower moter. Near the motor there is a small circit board wth 3 or 4 wires plugged in to it. It is the resistor for the blower motor and is faulty. The same thing happened to my 2000. The parts counter guy at the dealer said it is a very common problem. Puna 08-28-2004, 05:20 AM TRAILDOG, can you change just the resistor on a 2000 or is it integrated with the blower motor, if it can be changed do you know the part number and price offhand? traildog1 08-28-2004, 02:19 PM It is not part of the blower motor but is mounted near it. I dont remember the part number. When I changed mine I got the number off of the old one. It cost about $20.00. Puna 08-29-2004, 05:16 AM Thanks Traildog, Guess i'll start looking, my 1 & 2 speeds are dead, the rest work fine. I live in Hawaii so i can add another 10-15 bucks to that price!!! traildog1 08-29-2004, 08:48 AM Try gmpartsdirect.com You might even be able to look up a part number on ther site. Puna 08-31-2004, 05:01 AM Traildog, checked the web site, ordered the part , 20 bucks and some change, including shipping, and believe me they really stick it to us on shipping charges but alot of times its cheaper then the fealer prices. thanks alot for the help............... Puna 09-06-2004, 05:20 AM Traildog, Got it changed, you forgot to mention what a son of a gun it was to get the rear screw off of the blower motor cover to get to the electrical connector, after a little sweat and a couple bad words, I got it. If anyone is interested the part number is 15305077 Thanks again vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
