How about this one? The Subie or the Mitsu?

Stock vs stock, or modded vs modded

And say they were both sold here :D

Yeah right, what a tease. How many can we get here? 0 for 2. Although, wait, the WRX is on its way to the US, isn't it? Cool!

Well, as much as I never thought I would say this, given that the Evo is such an unbelievable cheap, fast car, I'd have to take the WRX. Yes! The traction this thing makes with its AWD system is unbelievable. I saw a comparison of accelaration stats, and right off the line, the WRX (in full-on rally form) makes enough traction to blast it off with the power of a top fuel dragster. Of course, this is right off the line, and quickly the WRX falls behind, but for that one, brief moment in time, it thrashes with the best of them.

I think the Evo comes with AWD also, but for AWD drive systems, I go with the leaders: VW/Audi and Subaru.

WRX, but it's a tough choice

Both cars can produce stupid fast 0-60 times on dirt in rally form, I'm talkin under 4 seconds

I'd take the WRX too - yes, it's now here (well orders were taken already and cars are en route)

Wait a couple years, you'll see some crazy Subies hitting our shores (The STi? Quite possibly!)

What's the difference, really? I like them both, but they're so similar, because both were born to compete in the WRC. The Lancer just looks a little taller.

On a whim, I'll pick the Impreza. Plus, I don't like the Marlboro graphics on the Lancer Rally Cars.

I'd go for the WRX. The look of the EVO is more similar to a GTC car. It would fit fine there.:bandit:

Which EVO are we talking about? There's like five of them isn't there? I still would take a WRX just for the fact that my mom has a Subaru and there great!

Hi we have lots of WRX and EVO over here and I think the EVO drives nicer and is not as unstable as the WRX
on the road. Both have the same power I would take the EVO there are more WRX here than Mustangs in the US they blow gearbox's and are a very harsh motor at
high RPM sick of the sight of them.

I saw on TV that 62 years old guy EX-Rally driver. He took the WRX for a test drive in the snow it was astonishing and IMO the WRX is more a Rally(dirty track) car than the EVO. The EVO is very good street racer:bandit:

BTW ther are 6 EVOs

Lancer more horsepower if we'er talking about the turbo.

How can you idiots choose WRX over an EVO? WRX is one of the most over-rated cars, if not the MOST over-rated. In Australia, everyone here went crazy over the WRX, and it sold like crazy, 2 years later, the car is friging boring and basically, is Sh!t. Once Evo Enthusiasts found out Australia is getting 100 Evo's orders disappeared in 1 week if not less. The 22B STi was priced @ $120,000, haha what a JOKE. Capping off 5 second 0-100 sprints while the Evo @ $65,000 gives a fast 4.5 second sprint.

If you still want a WRX over a EVO then...:flipa: !

So, the car which the million-time world rally champion car was based on is overrated?

GTO-TT/Chev57 and lancerz, those must be some good ass New Zealand buds you two are smoking. Can I have some?

You must be in America or a country that doesnt see A EVO hit the roads. Thus you get pissy WRX's thats why you love them so much hey?

If you seriously think a WRX is better then an EVO, you must be smoking buds.

WRX - :bloated:
EVO - :sun:

Well, the WRX is now here, and the EVO is slated for US distribution in the fall of 2002, so we'll know first-hand in about a year and a half!!

I'd have to choose the Lancer EVO VI. It's just more radical. And I sooo bored with the Subarus. I've seen like 1 EVO here, and Imprezzas are all over the place.

CU. NISMO 4ever :)

I'll go with the EVO! I like the looks. And the horsepower's not too shabby.:D

I'll say EVO. But this is based on looks. I think both cars are so similiar it's scary.

In the wet, a WRX in rally trim is faster in the 0-60 than a Porsche 911 Turbo in the DRY!! In the mud, it does 0-60 in the 4 second range. Amazing.

In the real world, I'd have to take the Evo VI, because of its titanium-alumium (I think) turbine, which makes tons of boost quikly (less weight). It's gee-gaw of electronic differentials, etc. But I don't know too much about the 22B STi.
Wait a minute, I have an article on it. Ill come up with my real decision later.

I'd have to go with the WRX, but only the 2 door model. I just think they are a lot better looking then the 4 door model.
The Evo i like just as much, but i just like the fact of having a 2 door "horse power on 4 wheels" car.

This thread is kinda old but, The WRX is available now, if you could get one and the EVO Vll concept was just released a little while ago.

I like the affordability and the fact that I can carry real people in them. And its a sleeper. Example:
"Ahhh, the little lancer(or Impreza) wantst ot play. I'm going to have to spank it realllll good. hehehe. (2 seconds later) HOLY SHIT!! WHAT THE HELL IS THAT???? (very embarrassed)"
Hehehe. muhahaha.

0-60 in 4 in the mud? What? No way. Where are you getting these facts? They seem a little absurd.

I also did a double take. I'll find the exact page and magazine date. I think it was car and driver.
I hope it is, cuz' I've got 90+magazines to sort through.:(

Do you even know what your on about? I dont think so.

The Evo VI is a rally car, and there is a Street Version.

And why didnt he test the Evo VI? looks like someone is a WRX biased person. (62 yr old! HAHA! - he should be sitting at home drinking tea and watching TV) :D

you cant lose with either car....
end of story

oh, enzo.. he was talking about a rally car that could do 0-60 in 4secs in the mud

rally cars have 300+ hp and sick awd... it could/does happen

I found the page! left it in my bag, I'll have it up by 4 this afternoon. The mud time was 4.6 seconds, with a car journalist, not even a pro.

Chris

Its in the May 1998 Car and Driver, pages 142-150. Teh performance is on page 150.
0-30 was 1.6 in mud, 1.4 on wet pavement.
0-60 was 4.6 in mud, 4.1 on wet pavement.

This with Larry WEbster, not Colin McRae, driving.
its top speed is 127 mph in that trim (a tight rally).
0.84g on a wet skip pad.

Compare those to a 911 turbo, Lotus Esprit, Viper, vette, lamborhgini, ferrari, etc ON THE DRY! and the subbie will win quite a bit.
