Hello everyone back again for another installment of the never ending problems!!! This one is serious. As you may know from previous postings, I just had the clutch replaced on my 93' V6 LE picked the car up on Friday and went to the cottage on Sunday approx. 275 km trip. On my way home Wed. afternoon parts where coming off the car. I stopped to take a look thought everything was fine, then again something came off the car this time I saw it, stopped and found a bolt. Upon inspecting the car I could see that there was grease all over the place. I could see that two bolts were missing from the drivers side axle and a hole was blown in the transmission. I guess that one of the bolts came off and the bracket(between two bolts) was hitting against the transmission housing finally the bracket blew a hole through the transmission housing and the other bolt came off (the one I found). Thankfully I was almost home. So I took the car into the garage where I had the clutch replaced, a few of the remaining bolts were also loose.
What is up with that?
Has this occurred to anyone else?
Why would this be happening?
I can't see that the mechanic would not have tightened the bolts after replacing the axle. Bolts don't just lossen on there own, do they?

Another small problem, after having the clutch fixed the cruise control will not work. When I turn it on the indicator light comes on and slowly flashes five times and then shuts off. And the cruise control cannot be set. Any ideas? I assume that something did not get hooked up properly upon replacemnet of the clutch, it worked fine prior to this. Any help comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks folks sorry for the length.

For your cruise control, you can try a small adjustment ( 1 or 2 mm) on the brake light switch located in the upper part of the brake pedal. Sometimes the brake pedal is not doing the right preassure in that switch which send unstable signals to the cruise control. Good luck

No, if tightened correctly, bolts don't loosen on their own. The mechanic blew it.

As far as the cruise control goes, check the connection for the c/c actuator connector. It is right behind the radiator on the driver's side next to the battery.

Thanks for the response guys. I may be back, if the cruise control problem doesn't get fixed.
