Hello All,

I have a question regarding the 4th gen celica's (86-89).

I have a celica GTS and was wondering if the turbo from a 3SGTE engine could be incorporated to the 3SGE(LC) without having to have the AWD?
Meaning, is it possible or am I :screwy: ?

Maybe my last post wasn't too clear.

I have a 1986 celica GTS (std everything) and wanted to get more juice out of it. I know that the only (major) difference between the 3SGE and the 3SGTE is the turbo. What I needed to know was if I pull the turbo from a GTE can I adapt it to my GE without much hassle? :banghead:

I don't know, but you can get an idea by carefully looking at the engine specifications for the two motors and seeing how close they are. I think the important specs would be compression ratio, piston head design, bore and stroke, valve size, cam timing, lift and duration, head gasket composition, injector volume, fuel pump volume, and fuel pressure.

why dont u get a specialist to do it, i bet you could get a better turbo from a company like HKS

When it comes to engines (meaning cars) I am not savvy at all. Does any one know the specs as mentioned earlier? :eek7:

Does HKS make a turbo for the '86-89 celica's? I've been looking all over the web for such things but only find turbos for later models.

Does anyone have links to such sites?

Play around with google. I know that turbo engines have a lower compression than NA

HKS and such are only turbo manufacturers, find a garage/workshop that sells and installs turbo kits for NA cars.... u should be able to find one that has experience with ur type of car
