Which is a better car for the track, the chevelle, corvette, camaro, or the pontiac gto? i know it shoukld be gm, and im talking about older cars not the new ones.

Depends on what you got done to the car. Any car can be a good track car. I've seen a Gremlin pull either 8's or 9's can't remember the correct time. That a tuff choice for me, cuz I would pick them all.

What are we talking about here? Are we talking about 1/4 mile or track. When talking about the track the vette(stock vs stock) will kick butt. When it comes to straight line well it is a give and take. First there is the vette, it is light, fast, with good suspension but it is expensive. The Camaro is great too, light, fast, and cheap but it has kind of a crappy suspension when compared to the other two. Chevelles are fast and have 4 link suspension too but they are heavy. Dollar for dollar I'd put my money on the Camaro for being the most practical strip car. Just my opinion.

oops forgot the GTO. GTO is pretty much a Chevelle with some better parts. I am not a Pontiac guy so I don't really know.

It will all come down to personal preference and which car you can get a better deal on. Stock for stock, a ZL1 Corvette wins hands down.
