2nd EGR valve/ Trans questionRPotyrala 08-23-2004, 10:35 PM Hello, New member here. I am replacing my EGR valve again thru my dealer under warranty. Any other suggestions on what else could be going on? Also, I have noticed when I slow down or break I can feel my transmission shift down abruptly. (I have a 1998 Automatic EX) Is this normal or is this the start of something I don' want. Thank you for listening. RP HONDA_99 08-23-2004, 11:30 PM Automatic Transmission Fluid need to be changed every year or 15,000ml with Honda's ATF or compatible ATF. Amsoil only one other company that makes ATF compatible to Honda Z1 ATF, but its more expensive. phantastic1 09-01-2004, 11:50 PM make sure they are not just replacing the egr valve. they should also clean out your intake man to get rid of the build up due to the first egr valve. then they are suppose to tap a tube into the passage leading to the egr to fix the build up problem. make sure they do all that to ensure this repair is done right. there is also a recall on the workmanship of the trans of your model accord. since your car is gonna be at the shop anyways...have them see if your vehicle is also under the tranny recall. if so...have them diagnose it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
