01 JGC 2wd 4.0L.
Last week the check engine light came on. It was running a little rough but seemed to be doing ok. I had an appt to take it in but the night before the appt, I was going to the store and it wouldn't start. I tried to jump it but no luck. Took the battery in, it was dead.
At this point I thought, well atleast this wasn't expensive just a battery. Got a new battery, fired right up. I was happy.
Well today my wife went to drive to the store and the engine light came on again. She said it ran fine but the light stayed on the whole day.
I did the on/off test, turn key to on position 3 times leave in on postion. The odometer display showed a code of P0455. I checked on the list from another site, and it listed P0455 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak).
So, my question is what to do next? I have searched the engine compartment and have been unable to locate anything loose.

check your gas cap.if its loose you will set a code.also look at it and see if there is rust coming out of it.there is a valve inside it and they are known for rusting and then it leaks

had the same thing happen to my 01 GC, turned out to be the same code, it was the gas cap, would have never thought it, but put cap on, disconnected battery to reset codes, check engine light hasnt been on since.
