engine1988suprakid 08-22-2004, 11:19 AM if i have a non turbo 7mge motor is the block and the crank the same as 7mgte and if it is is what else is the same SUPER_glu 08-23-2004, 02:42 AM just about everyting is the same except the na supra has a little higher compression like 9 to 1 and the cam lobes are taller and the valve springs are slightly stronger if i remember right. if ur gonna go turbo keep ur block and ur head you will not regret it projectsupramk3 08-23-2004, 12:40 PM The heads are the exact same, the blocks are the same design with some minor differences being the turbo has the oil squirters drilled and installed and an oil return for the turbo. The 86.5-88 n/a intake cam is different from all the others (all turbo and 89-92 n/a), some people have dyno'd a small gain with it but it could be explained by a number of other things. Turbo compression is 8.4, n/a compression is 9.2, the difference is the pistons. Crank, rods, lower intake runners and some other misc parts, it's all the same. If your going to turbo it why not just buy a 7mgte? It's not like there hard to find, and it's not like there expensive, Toyota did all the work for you and all you have to do is bolt it in. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
