It started today. Trans. stuck in 2nd gear. Noticed "S" light on and went to turn it off. Nothing. Will not turn off. Light is solid green, not blinking.I can shift from 1st to 2nd only by manually putting the shifter in 1st then 2nd ,but when going to 3rd and 4th, nothing but 2nd gear.Whats the problem? Trans. has 160,000 mi. and my Accord EX has been great since new. Help! :confused:

I read another post that said to pull the "back up" fuse to reset the computer.I put the fuse back and it fixed the problem. The "S" light went out and went for a test drive. The tranny shifted just fine.

No its the transmission chip...( I can't think of the name of it right now)...very common problem....

It's your transmission computer. I had the same problem and just replaced mine. The trans computer is right next to the ecu on the passenger side floor board. I got mine from these guys

Thank you for the replies.I will keep an I eye on that "S" light and if the problem happens again (it probably will since I really didn`t do anything but clear faults by pulling and installing fuse) I will look into getting a new trans. computer.
