Okay I hear that SI and EX shared the same motor in 92-95 I belive so was that a B16 or a D16? I belive it would be the D16. Well in that case then what were the main diffs between a ex and SI back then?

Also 1 other quikie. Will a 92 DX with a B16a SIR2 beat a stock 1999 Civic SI? What are the hp numbers for a B16a SIR2 JDM B16a?

Main difference between the Si and Ex in the 92-95 Civic was that the Ex was the Coupe and Si was a hatchback.

Si was manual only tranny.

If I'm not mistaken, si hatches didn't have power windows but ex did.

yes the 92-95 chassi is lighter and b16a are better than the b16 that were in the 99 si. i think 92-95 si werent sold in the US. never seen one here.

Well think about it. A 1992 DX is lighter than a 1999 Civic Si. So putitng the same motor in a lighter car and it should be faster.

Lighter engine, less sound deaden material, lighter wheels, lighter tranny, and I think thinner crash bars on the doors.

The DOHC VTEC is about 100-150lbs heavier than the D16 motor if I remember right.

My friend has a 93 SI hatch with a GSR. His hatch has power windows and power sunroof and all the other power options.

damn where did he find a hatch with power windows my buddie has an si hatch its all power besides the damn windows...was it an option and some rich guy had them put in..lol

B16A1 = 157-159 h.p

B16A2 (1999 Si) = 160 h.p hydro tranny

B16A3 = 170 h.p
