There are drag cars running high compression with turbos and putting out killer numbers, but they're also not running with pump gas and have a killer tune. And it'd be better to buy turbo cams instead rather than a wild cam for a turbo application. Do that and get low compression pistons and you'll be much safer to boost. And there's no straight answer of how much boost you can run; it all depends on the turbo. My buddy runs 16psi at the track with a small T25 turbo but wouldn't have to run nearly that high of boost with say a T3 turbo. But either go for all motor or boost, don't do a little of each. Kven 08-21-2004, 03:59 AM a fully built b16a should be able to keep up with a stock b16a turbo. the turbo b16a would be around 235hp, while the NA one around 200hp. the reason the NA one should be able to keep up is it doesnt have the added weight of the turbo, intercooler, and plumbing. the NA would have a better torque band too which can spread from midrange to top-end. the turbo is more in the top end but with a high-end turbo setup(like the GT-RS series turbos) the turbo would kill the NA motor. but price wise, boosting is cheaper for the hp you get. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
