My friends 2000 esc keeps dying on him, but it only happens when he is at a complete stop. Anyone have any clue whats wrong?

Idle Air Control valve is my first guess...what does it do exactly?

Last time it happen was when he put it in park so he could listen to the engine. It was ok for a few seconds, then it idels really low and dies. It only happens when he isn't moving.
