Exhaust opinions?Trackstar1506 08-18-2004, 08:30 AM I am planning on getting an exhaust for my truck. (97 F-150 single cab styleside) I am probably going to get it through my old sponser of my ex car club or through a local retailer. Whichever is cheaper, and less of a hassle. Next question is this, does anyone know which "model" is right for my truck? And how deep of an exhaust is this going to give me? Yes I probably am going to get flowmasters. Any help would be in great appreciation. DT Garland 08-20-2004, 10:54 PM Also looking for exhaust for my '80 F100 302. Any recommendations? Can't find headers for it either. 97chevyman 08-22-2004, 11:44 AM 40 series would be the best for flowmaster, steelpax do not sound too bad either. Great big pipe, atleast 2.5 inch, otherwise it is all cackle. chiefyray 12-29-2004, 05:23 PM I recently put a mustang 5.0 roller motor in my 85 f-150 and did not want to put my factory exaust manifolds back on so I put my mustang headers (mac 1 5/8" equal length) and had my mustang off road exaust cut to fit under my truck (mac 2 1/2"). I even used my mustang mufflers (flow master 3 chamber 2 1/2") tucked under the frame rails. My local muffler shop only charged my 75.00 to cut and weld up my h pipe and intal everything. Now my truck sound exactly like my mustang used to and I get 15-18 MPG. It is a 1985 f-150 extended cab. I would get the parts from ebay and save if you do not have the parts laying around like I did. I used to get 13 MPG before the exaust upgrade. urban cowboy 12-29-2004, 08:41 PM I have always put on Hearthrob Exhaust. The mufflers are actually built into the exhaust tips, available in black or chrome or stainless. They have a nice deep mellow tone and are very affordable. Complete system for my 1/2 ton was about $200. These are a cat back system. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
