congrats i member my first car, 1989 nissan pulsar NX five speed. wasnt bad but wrecked it into a curb and tore off my oil pan lol. then got my lude, wrecked it once already and have been rear ended, but still runs strong, started burning oil lately and jus got a my first CEL. my h22a comes in soon so imma run the piss out of it until something else dies. lol porlly shudnt im a lil broke after payin for the H deuce deuce

my first was also a handme donw but i had to pay for it - it was a 94 ford taurus. had about 150,000 miles and the transmition was slippin. now i just a got my 98 civic EX earlier this year. love it even though its slow

Thx, guys. This car feels pretty fast compared to the other cars i've driven (96 Sentra, 96 Dodge Stratus ES). I plan to turbo it later on down the road. I'm going to be sticking w/ the d16y8 though. Lmao, my friend in his 92 LX accord coupe, keeps saying he'll kill me in a race.. i just laugh it off. Yesterday him and his brother were arguing about whether i had vtec or not.. LOL. The one in the 92 accord lx coupe is pretty determined to make his car faster than mine, yesterday he asked me what kind of swaps he could do and i told him he could do a h22.
It's a big difference from driving a auto to a manual. Yesterday i stalled at several stoplights quite embarassing lmao. Especially when your the first person at the light and everyone behind you is waiting on you. Well, this is my daily rant for today.

kudos for that being a first car. mine was a hand me down 87 chevy nova......ouch. pretty big pile. then i bought a 95 mercury mystique 5 speed in hopes of making it like an SVT contour. sold that to my parents, and bought my 93 civic

My first car is a 04 Civic LX.

My first car was a 1990 Mercury Topaz. HORRIBLE PILE. only gears two and four worked, and the only way to make it shift was to redline it at 5k for 2 seconds at least. terrible...plus it was missing the exhaust...like ALL of it so it sounded like some race car haha. i liked it but looking back...it was super gay.

congrats on your first car man, but don't go out racing it right away. get a feel for the clutch and practise, it takes time. wait a couple months then start racing. but congrats.

I dont plan to race anytime soon. I still need to practice driving it, besides right now i feel the speed is substantial nothing to brag about, but it does have some pep for a little car.

Is there any version of a 1992-1995 civic with a 1.4 engine or smaller?
As i'm not lying about what car i might be getting first, cause its not gonna be a fuking eclipse mate so why are you lying? have you never heard of insurance? (see post 2) cause you would be crippled by it if you got an eclipse as your first car!
Also the only size i've seen is a 1.6 and since i'm a boy and will be 17 i can't get it as the insurance would be too high (i live in tha UK and we get ripped off)

Don't feel too old, I was born when Nixon was president.... 3 presidents before you. My first car was a 70 VW Bug i bought for $300 that didn't run. I pushed it 8 blocks to the gas station down the street from my house and the owner let me keep it there until i fixed it.

Those of you who drive a civic, when do you shift for daily driving? I've been shiftin at 3k since i didn't get the manual w/ the car.

Can anyone answere my previous questions at what rpms do you drive shift at for daily driving on your EX civic.
