How do you wire two 4ohm subs so that the amp sees a two ohm load?

single or dual 4 ohm?

single

run both positives to the same positive on the amp, both negatives to the same negative on the amp. Or run pos on one sub to pos on other sub to amp. same with negative

is that the same as bridging it

I never call that bridging it... and technically it is more like wiring series when you bridge I think, but w/e

you bridge an amp not subs

so then which terminals do i hook the wires up to my amp
if it has four terminals.

Is it a 2 channel amp or a mono amp?

2 ch

Run one positve to one positive on the amp, one negative to one negative on the amp. Use different positive and negatives for each sub.

so does that mean that i dont use two terminals?

Haibane
08-16-2004, 09:13 PM
no that means you do use two terminals on the amp

But does it matter that the amp is not 2 ohm stable in bridged mode?

ok. you dont want to parralel the subs the bridge the amp what haibane is saying is put each speaker on its own channel pos to pos neg to neg on one subs and amp channel and then repeat for the next sub.

hopefully he gets that...

Thanx for clearing that up. Its just that in every diagram of parallel wiring they show two speakers hooked up with only two wires leading from both of the speakers combined

That is why this is not parallel
