engine build-up, mini me conversion or b16/b18speedncivic 08-13-2004, 04:00 PM I have a 96 civic dx with a d16y7 5 speed. I want to build my car up some that I can strap on a turbo and be able to boost at 12 to 14 lbs without having to worry about a blown engine. I need to know what is better to go with, doing a mini me conversion or swapping a b16 or b18. I dont have alot of money though. CivicSpoon 08-13-2004, 04:07 PM b18b (LS motor) is your best bet. How much hp are you looking to make and what turbo are you using? speedncivic 08-13-2004, 04:44 PM I want to be able to build something to 280-320hp with a T3 turbo kit and front mount intercooler almxdupintegra 08-14-2004, 02:25 AM Yeah a B18B would be your best bet almxdupintegra 08-14-2004, 02:26 AM or you can check out the motors built by TODA. try www.todaracing.com. They have some sick motors ready to drop in jcrx 08-14-2004, 05:36 AM You'd be hard pressed to get 12psi amd 300ish from a straight T3 with as you say "not a lot of money". speedncivic 08-15-2004, 11:22 AM Thank for your input. I have been thinking about doing a frankenstein setup but I dont really know everything that I would need. I would much rather build up a B18 and then swap it in and turbo charge it and have it fine tuned. Then I think I would be right.
