Intermittent auto. Transm. problems

I have a 90 Camry DX and sometimes when I have to stop ( for stop signs, traffic lights , etc) the transm. seems to start in the 4th gear, very slow with no power, like it didn't change to 1st gear. This particular problem is intermittent and it does it 3 or 4 times in a row, after that it will start running OK for hours and days with no problems . This cycle will repeat itself (every day, every 2 days, once a week, etc)
The transmission was rebuild 3 years ago and this problem it been going on for the last 6 months. Any ideas how to correct it ??

Going through something similar right now. Check your battery and the transmission control unit. I had to have the transmission solenoid replaced only to be told that the TCU is going out!
