Can I have a code without throwing the service engine light? My transmission is slipping and I think the computer should be throwing a code to let me know what is wrong (maybe pcs solenoid).

The tranny is operated thru the PCM,but that dosent mean that it will set an SES if it slips....~Larry~

check the color of your trans fluid, if it's no longer red or pinkish, you've got a toasted trans. the only things that will trip a code are the shift or tcc solenoids.
