Sidewall damage poll

I have a slice in a sidewall on an almost new tire. The slice is 1 long by 1/8 in. deep and no belting is showing in the slice and there is no bulging. It is very close to the tread and no leak. I have gotten different opinions from several tire shops. My choice is to use the tire. I thought it might be interesting to see how many others would either keep or replace the tire. Does anyone know if there are any guidlines from manufactureres on tire damage?

I'd keep on using it. I off road a lot, and almost all my tires have slices in them, and I still drive on the road all the time. Only time one with a slice actually popped on the road was when I made too sharp of a turn and nailed the corner of a curb.
