Do you hear any sound when head gasket blown?

My car is a 95 Lx. Last night while waiting at a red light I heard a loud pop, like from somewhere under the car but not very sure, I thought it was tire but it's not. There is no white smoke from the rear pipe but I can see water dripping out of it. All fluid levels seem ok. What else problem could produce a (single) loud pop sound?

Are you sure it wasn't your exhaust? My car has done that but it wasn't the gasket. sorry if i could help more.

i guess as long as water was dripping out of your exhaust and not steam then you are fine. water is a byproduct of your exhaust. when a head gasket "blows" it does so over a period of time. but if you are still in doubt then check your oil for milk chocholate like sludge.

I've heard something like that a couple times with my '93lx 1.9, don't have the faintest what causes it yet. I haven't found any harm done either.

Nah, you won't hear it "pop".. .as said, it's slow... and if it was blown, you'd know - lots of white cloudy smoke.
If you're paranoid, do the following. Pull out the spark plugs, (disconnect coil!) and crank it a few times.. get a buddy to stand in front of the car.
If the HG is blown, it'll spew water out the plug holes (right at yer buddy, ha ha)...
