xenon lights?supershawn 02-04-2002, 11:55 AM i like the bluish tint of the xenons, but dont the real things cost a hella lot? i think you can also get the imitation xenon bulbs off of ebay but i was wondering if they're any good or not...anyone have them? how are they? any info is appreciated nittanys1 02-04-2002, 01:57 PM I got mine off ebay...twice...the first ones I got said they were the brightest and bluest ones on Ebay, that was a lie. They were not even blue when lit up even tho the bulbs were plus the got VERY hot. So after 20,000 miles having them all 24/7 one of them blew and I went back on ebay and got some other ones. Now the ones I have now are MUCH better, they are blue when lit up and my friends are always saying my headlight are bluer than before. So if you get them on Ebay be sure your getting the right ones. email me when you picked out the ones you want to get online and I'll tell you if you should get them from them of if they are the cheap ones. hondaman-iac 02-04-2002, 02:22 PM plasmalights.com has ones that come with a 10 year warranty. they sell for $70, but on ebay they have the bulbs for less than 20. the seller name is plasmalights.com or plasma industries.com, not sure. EliteAccordPH 02-05-2002, 03:34 AM Optiblue from www.autodynamic.com is pretty nice :) Defender46 02-05-2002, 09:24 AM A lot of my friends use the Hiper Industries bulbs off ebay, they have all had them for at least a year and had no problems, they are really blue and a lot better than stock bulbs, thats the ones i recommend, you can get them around 22 bucks shipped, i just won some last week but the seller never replied..... r1ch_b 02-05-2002, 05:18 PM I use PolarG but it's kind of purpleish...not bluish. It;s bright and I like it. strodda 02-18-2002, 05:43 AM heres an option. i had 80w krypton bulbs, but i wanted them brighter. so i took a lower wattage(65) 9005, trimmed the tabs and put it in the lowbeam spot. supershawn 02-18-2002, 12:46 PM can you get a ticket for the lights being blue? strodda 02-18-2002, 04:28 PM Supershawn: technically you can, cause i got pulled over once for having polarg signals. i asked, why cant i have blue lights when all the lexus', etc. have them. he said it was illegal for me to make aftermarket modifications... but if it come from the manufacture like that, its ok. but since then, i have blue headlights & bumper lights, and i put the signals back to amber. havent been pulled yet, and i actually drove right past 2 cop cars last night. i think they wont tend to be a dick as much because i have the amber lights like youre supposed to have. fyi, my head and bumper lenses are actually, blue. i tinted them with a transparent blue dye to match my grill brads94accord 02-18-2002, 10:02 PM i have some farenheight plasma xenons in mine i love em. they look kinda stock up close but look like hid's with blue tint from away. my friends say they look really cool. i have had them for two months now and still no burnouts. they are pretty bright. my friend has them same ones in his acura cl and he says he gets highbeamed by people a lot cause they are so bright. strodda 02-21-2002, 02:44 AM heres the pic of my lights. i took it during the day so they dont show up that well, but you get the idea. btw, they're 60w 9005's in the lowbeam spot. and i rewired the bumper signals to stay on like that. i did that cause i wanted to get rid of the fogs. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/642766front_lights_on_lowQ.jpg PureRiceAccord 02-27-2002, 11:37 PM When I had my Plasmas, I paid like 50 bucks or something from www.nextcollection.com They were very bright and did have a nice blue tint. You can find every bulb for your car at that website. blatch 02-28-2002, 10:45 PM I've got CATZ 110watt Xenon bulbs or whatever. they're REALLY fucking bright, and really fucking expensive (From japan). but i love 'em. 92AccordCoupe 03-01-2002, 01:26 PM i use toucan eurolite bulbs for both low and high beams. they have a mild blue tint, so i like 'em. i got them through street beat customs (http://shop.store.yahoo.com/streetbeatcustoms/). i wanted to get piaa bulbs, but i couldn't really justify the cost... wal-mart actually has philips hid wannabe bulbs for cheap... yeah, the hid conversion kits cost a ton. hopefully in the future car manufacturers make hid lights the standard...they're way more efficient and last a lot longer since they don't have filaments like regular bulbs. the cops haven't bothered me about my bulbs...yet. i have clear corners and bumpers all with amber bulbs, so i don't attract too much attention. i suppose if you had rainbow xenon bulbs, you would probably get pulled over. but since there are so many new cars with blueish headlights, you'll blend right in with the rest of 'em :) alphanumericgt2 03-06-2002, 07:15 PM technically the bluish tint bulbs are illegal, due to reasons that the color is reserved for the police, at least thats what I've heard from people that have gotten tickets for them. The purplish (sp?) bulbs are legal, and if you look at actual HIDs, they have a purplish tint to them. strodda 03-06-2002, 08:14 PM Originally posted by alphanumericgt2 technically the bluish tint bulbs are illegal, due to reasons that the color is reserved for the police, at least thats what I've heard from people that have gotten tickets for them. The purplish (sp?) bulbs are legal, and if you look at actual HIDs, they have a purplish tint to them. i got pulled once for hiper signals, and i was told that any aftermarket change is illegal. if you buy a car that naturally emits a blue light then its legal. and about blue being for cops only, what about s2000's? their lights are very blue compared to others. alphanumericgt2 03-07-2002, 12:22 PM hmm...other people on other forums have said that they got pulled over because they're output was blue. well, i guess it depends on where you live. as for the s2000's, i didn't know they were blue, since i've never driven one... strodda 03-07-2002, 06:24 PM well shit, i havent driven one either. im as broke as they come. but ive seen them drive by and they have very nice and very blueish lights. i think it depends on when you get pulled. if some cop has to meet his quota for the month, he'll pull you over for bs. when i got pulled for a light bulb, he even called for backup. damn these cops dont have shit to do. and the cop even said the light was white. but his backup said, "oh but the bulb is blue" now if any cops are reading this... im just kidding:D :D im sure theyre not all like that. rcjpix 03-08-2002, 04:40 AM I have ALWAYS used the xenons from J C Whitney. They are VERY blue to look at, but get the highest wattage. They look GREAT!! My dims are 100W, the brights 80W, about $10 each. In H4 for my 3G Preludes, I use 130W/90W. REALLY nice. Robert 92AccordCoupe 03-08-2002, 07:45 PM Originally posted by strodda ...and i was told that any aftermarket change is illegal. if you buy a car that naturally emits a blue light then its legal. so even the hid upgrade kits are illegal??? that sux!!! strodda 03-08-2002, 08:03 PM well i dont know the actual written rules on stuff like this, but if you do get pulled for having hid's, if theyre anything but white they could probably ticket you for it. sucks but its not like you can argue with them. rcjpix 03-08-2002, 10:29 PM I think if you got HID, you probably have a car that looks as good as a Lexus............I can't imagine being pulled over! SAME with the window tint................I'm 56½. Robert EventHorizon 04-26-2002, 12:04 PM :finger: Check this out, if you've got Altezza's and you kept that "compliance card" that they came with you may be able to get away w/your HID conversion. I got pulled over cause I've got the HID headlamps and clear corners, and I opened my glovebox, and pulled out the "compliance card" for my Altezza's (not what I got pulled over for) and showed it to him. He was like "D'uh OK" then he jsut wrote me a ticket for no proof of insurance. HEHE I was thinking "hehe, fuck you, dumbass" :flipa: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
