2000 Caravan Codefamily6160 08-11-2004, 07:32 PM I have a 2000 Dodge Caravan, V6 3.3L, Auto, Air..... The check engine light is on, so I took it to autozone. The code they were able to pull was "P1698" & The only info they were able to give me was "Aux Input" and "Aux Output." They told me to contact the dealer for more info, and the dealer said that code is useless to them, and they'd have to do their own diagnosis ($90, plus the labor charges based on time). I am hoping someone will be able to help me out with this. Some symptoms of the car: A high pitched hiss/squeal when accelerating. The Coil & Spark Plugs are brand new. Someone suggested that maybe its the emission control module or something like that, but they're not sure. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance!!!! Big Papa 08-13-2004, 12:37 PM I found a list of codes and a description of your code at the following URL http://www.allpar.com/fix/codes.html 1698 No messages received from the electronic transmission control module or the Aisin transmission controller. I believe it ended up being that the main engine wire harness was damaged in an accident prior to us buying the car, so the connection was loose... We Replaced the wireharness, and almost all the problems went away, except the annoying noise is still there, and nobody can figure out exactly where it's coming from, since it only comes from under the hood when the car is moving + accelerating... vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
