Got a 2001 SLE which is showing signs of a coolant leak out of the bottom front driver-side of the intake manifold. I know there were problems in the past (98-99) with plastic manifolds.

Does the 2001 still have the plastic manifold?
Anyone else see this?

Thanks

The 2001 Bonnevilles do have the composite material (plastic) upper intakes. Check the area around the throttle body to upper intake junction. There is a gasket there, check it with an inspection mirror.

On my mom's 2002, i already had to replace the stupid plenum(plastic molding) because there was a coolant leak. You might want to look into that if its cracked anywhere. It's quite a job, but you will save a lot on labor.

Pressure test the cooling system to be sure its the plenum and not the lower intake manifold gasket, there were some issues with those also,I wouldn't want to put on a plenum and have to do the job over for a lower intake gasket,Good Luck
