Does anyone think a h22a type-r v-tech motor handle an G-reddy turbo kit????

I wouldn't do it if i were you without building the engine up (sleeves, lower compression pistons) Your motor has 11:1 compression and chances are your motor has an open deck so you're likely to bust right threw your sleeves, not to mention detonation. The h22 is by far a better motor for all motor applications. But if you're set on doing it I'd say no more than 6psi (that'd probably be pushing it as it is), and GET IT TUNED. Don't even drive it down the street at full boost until you've had someone who knows how to tune tune it for you. But I'd recommend the alternative of cams, valve train, angle job, and P&P over turbo any day.

well i say screw teh trubo and saty N/A especially in a civic and where in teh hell did u get a TYPE S h22a for 3600 includin motor mounts for a civic because top end dont sell it, u have an h22a my freind. not really sure if u do, but i dont liek callin BS and why turbo it u shud already be a 14 sec maybe 13 second car in ur civic. h22a civics r capable of 10s stayin N/A. so why bother with turbo? btw its VTEC sorry one thign i am anal about i saw a nice prelude this weekend then saw teh hood, had V-TECH SPORTS written on it in huge lettering, i got real pissed. lol

dont act like you know so much.

i push 8 psi on my h22a4 with the greddy kit...which doesnt need tuned at all, it comes with the bluebox/emanage pretuned.

as for all motor being better...p&p, complete headwork, pistons, cams and tuning are going to be in the $4000-$5000 range if not more, and not nearly as reliable. not even the drag, stage 3 turbo kit costs even near that much. boost owns you.

Hey if you're comfortable pushing that much boost on your high compression motor then go for it; but I'm sure not going to tell someone else to do the same. And I definently wouldn't trust the greddy emanage as the engine managment solution with that motor; you're asking to bust it. And I never said anything about it being less expenzive going to all motor way, of course all motor is going to be more expensive. I'll wait for your thread that tells about how you broke your boosted motor with 11:1 compression, and you'll get no sympathy from me.
And he's got the Euro Type R motor for all those wondering, at least I'm assuming that because that's the only type r h22 that I've ever heard about.

sorry i jumped on you in my last post but im going to reiterate...

i just dont agree that the h22 is better suited for an all motor engine. that is to say its no better an all motor engine than it is a turbo charged one...there again final intentions come into play.

i want, as my goal, a balls out fast (350hp) h22a4 powered 5th gen prelude. i dont see all motor helping me acheive that goal as effectively, inexpensively, or reliably as a turbocharged one. i dont know what this guy wants but i can tell you i get in my prelude and as soon as i tromp the throttle im overjoyed (with the experience of a FI engine). and i assure you, if you treat the turbo/motor as youre suppossed to, the h22 will have no problems handling 7-8 psi all day long...

I'm jsut thinking that the motor would make a better all motor setup because of the high compression and the cam already in there. but you're right it does depend on what kind of hp he's looking to make because he'd probably only make maybe 250hp with head work. And I guess I just bought in too much to the "thin sleeves make the h22 bad for boost" bullsh*t. But i still wouldn't (myself) boost a motor like that for daily driven without some sort of major engine managment system (hondata, AEM EMS, uberdata); at least not on pump gas.

you are correct, people will feed you this bullshit all day about how thin the h22's cylender walls are...not closed deck...blah, blah blah. sure the sleaves are thin, and the block is not going to take as much boost as b18 (gsr or type-r) engine but its also not a precious moments porcelian tree ornament or something, its a damn tough engine and its made by you know who. it all comes down to how you treat your car. i dont bring my car to the track, and i rarely race, i check the oil EVERY day, and i let my car idle for 3 minutes minimum before shutting it off (til i get a turbo timer). and you bring up another good point, fuel/engine management is of the utmost importance. i WILL replace mine very soon. probably with the s200. either way good points...

well sorry 4 the other comments that u have to heart this pepole fighting :loser: and the question is yes till 10 psi !!!tuned is the best for performance
if u wanna get more boost just change ur pistons for 8:5.1 wiseco pistons and cosmetic gaskets u can run it till 18 psi easly cuz thats what am running on my accord h22a 18psi turbo!!!!!!and soon i be putting 50cc shoot!!!
easy progect that u can make ur h22a 380 whp with less then 4g!!!!:2cents: :2cents:
