not sure on the new neons im assuming its pretty much the same as a 95, but i took mine out and and took it all apart and there are little wheels in there for the odo to change them, you can always try that

HArd to say, remeber teh newer neons the odo is digital and controlled by the ecu(at least in most of the ones ive seen:S)

You may have to get the dealership involved... however check here: http://forum.2gn.org/ and see if they have any more info for ya on how to get that cluster swap accomplished.

I also have a 2K neon with no tach. I should be receiving my cluster today. I have the same question and will let you know what happens when I swap it. From what I've been told, The computer (ECU) stores the miles there.

I swapped the instrument cluster and now I found out that the miles do stay on the cluster itself. I had 57000 miles on my old cluster... this new one has 4400. Im driving a 2K neon w/ 4400 miles. :iceslolan

You can unscrew the odometers from both clusters and put the correct odometer on the new cluster. Don't play with the odometer and change the numbers, because if someone decided to check the odometer they will know it has been altered.

You can't change the numbers. The actual mileage is stored on the EPROMS of the cluster itself. These are not analog, they're digital. Whatever mileage the cluster has, that's what mileage it will have if you swap it. :screwy:
