Just got a 95 lude. My GSR got stolen a few weeks back so i am wondering about your opinions and experiences on different alarm or other theft detterent setups and how they worked for you. I'm in Las Vegas Nevada which is like #6 in car theft so i'm really paranoid right now. Thanks for your comments. peace!

you should come down here to tucson which i hear is rated at number one in the nation. the best damn title for a city if ever there was one. here, either your car has been stolen or you know 10 people that have. in one month, my accord, my friends 300zx tt, and my other friends blazer were jacked. only the accord and tt we recovered, but they may as well have been lost forever they were so fucked up. the only advice to offer, is dont make your car appealing. if it doesnt stand out, it doesnt have as good of a chance to get jacked. with any mod you make, make sure the car still looks stock from the outside. god luck. fuck car thieves :flipa: .

yes, i've seen arizona as rated #1 in car thefts! that is so messed up. i wish there was a task force dedicated to just catching these thieves... like setting up trap cars like they do in other states... i am also interested to find out who these people are. are they kids? professional chop shops or do they drive it to mexico or what... :bandit:

it pisses me off, these guys suck! die! die! die!!!:badass:

LoJack protects your car with a Police Tracking Network no car alarm can
match.

With auto theft being the # 1 property crime in the United States, how can
you afford not to protect your car? Last year there were over 1.5 million
new & used cars stolen in the United States. Alarms just don't stop thieves.
What did you do last time you heard an alarm? Nothing, right? Today's
professional car thief can bypass any anti-theft alarm system on the market
in a matter of seconds, or they can simply tow it.
That's why you need LoJack.

LoJack is the only system that lets police track and recover your stolen
vehicle. When you report the car stolen to the police, they activate the
LoJack transmitter and begin tracking the signal. Vehicles equipped with
LoJack are recovered over 90% of the time with over 70% returned with no
stripping damage at all.

LoJack saves you the hidden costs of car theft.

Many people think that insurance will "Buy them a new car" if their car is
stolen and not recovered. Your policy will only pay the vehicle's book value
- not what you owe on your loan or lease - or the cost of purchasing a new
vehicle. If your car is stolen it could easily cost you thousands!
· Car payments while waiting to settle your claim.
· Rental car fee's not covered by insurance.
· Personal valuables.
· Down payment, tax & license for the new vehicle
· Higher insurance rates due to the theft.

If the vehicle is recovered with damage your insurance company will decide
which is most cost effective, replace or repair your vehicle. You don't have
a choice!

The only way to protect yourself from this financial nightmare is by having
LoJack installed in your vehicle, allowing it to be recovered if stolen. A
car alarm can't do that only LoJack can.

That's why most insurance companies offer discounts when you install LoJack.

LoJack Offers Total Protection.

LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System $695.00

LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System
With Full Feature Alarm $995.00

LoJack offers a lifetime Stolen Vehicle Recovery service with NO monthly
fees. The price includes installation and a 2-year money back guarantee,
parts and labor warranty.

An optional Lifetime Extended Warranty is available for $99.00.

Optional inspections are recommended once every 2 years for a fee of $39.00,
and your LoJack back-up battery needs replacing once every 5 years for a fee
of $30.00.

LoJack is a permanent installation in the vehicle. If you sell the car
LoJack will transfer to the new owner.

LoJack's Money Back Guarantee.

If your LoJack equipped vehicle is stolen & not recovered within 24 hours
from the time you report it stolen then LoJack will refund your Package Price
up to $695.00 or $995.00, while under warranty.

LoJack also offers a Guarantee Plus for $200.00. LoJack guarantee's that for
the first 5 years from installation, if your vehicle is stolen and not
recovered within 30 days or recovered within 30 days but deemed a total loss
by your insurance co. then LoJack will send you $2500.00!

to do is report your car stolen. Recoveries are made in Mexico by working
with the CHP border patrol agents.

Don't be fooled with a false sense of security. There isn't a security
system available that will prevent the car from being stolen. With LoJack
your car is coveredcovered by a network of police. LoJack is recognized as
the leading Stolen Vehicle Recovery System available. No car alarm can offer
that.

Alarms and all security measures only slow down a potential thief...
Insurance however is available to replace what has gone/missing/etc...

That said, I have a basic alarm... fuel cutoff, starter kill, sensors (the usual)... At least, those bring down my insurance rate somewhat.

i asked my insurance company "state farm" if a detterent or a tracking device like lo jack would lower my rates, they said no because it doesnt protect against accidents or anything...

Strange... My rep from State Farm even had the papers for me to fill out regarding the safety/security features that my car had. I have full coverage (w/o supplemental for aftermarket items... I know).
Do you?

Nothing like that... but when my car got stolen they did ask for aftermarket parts i installed which probably helped increase my cars value (not much though). It might be different state by state or the different state laws...

i also heard insurance will increase 20%+ here in nevada because of car theft.

it would be nice if your insurance lowered but it didn't work here.

Insurance rate and policies are based on statisitics which varies from state to state.

LoJack sounds like an goodalarm with goodfeatures? But what happens if the car is stollen and taken outside the network area? Clark county is the only network area in Nevada. The alarm can be bypassed . By the time you wake up and realize the car is gone and the police are called to track it. The car will be outside the network area up on blocks with all the goodies stripped out of it. Lojack would need to grow more before I spend that kind of money. I say get a Two way paging alarm by DEI or Autopage. http://www.directed.com

lojack (and similiar sytems) are only useful if the local police have and USE the receivers. I know they don't have them here.

hey i know this is prolly time consuming but why dont people take out a spark plug everytime they leave, or get a loud ass pager alarm wit a kill switch, and have really sensitive lasers, I say if you plan on having a car and making it look good spend about 2 gees on ure alram system...
