some of you may have read my post in "wassup" about my belt breaking most likely due to chips in my underdrive pulley. if you haven't, then you are a ho (j/k, i guess). well, now to the point. some people say an aftermarket underdrive pulley (lighter and smaller) is not a good idea. they tear up your engine more than they help. what is your guys thoughts?

The VG's crank is balanced and machined so well... It really wouldnt hurt it.

I had no problem with mine, and I know countless others who had Underdrive pulleys, and encountered no problems.

It's a very good upgrade in my opinion...

they may weigh less but you will only see a 1 mabey 2% hp gain at the rear wheels with a relativly srock motor.

Most underdrive pullies are ok but, you have to becareful on install and shipping and handling. As for power gains your not going to see a HUGE leap in power. From my eyes its not worth it on a dailly driver until you done some serrious mods, first. So you can actualy see some power gains. I dont care for them becuase all my xp with them has been bad, they have a tendancy to eat belts if not installed properly and they slow down EVERY other system on the car like your alternator/generator, A/C compressor and your powersteering pump. If you get some complete pully kits they will provide you with a complete set for all accessories. Those are COOL! Its nice to keep your A/C cold when idling at a drive through and some chick is in the pass seat luvin the ride in the chilled interiour listening to the sounds on the system and not seeing your headlights dim when your bass hits out of your monster 12"s.

www.SGPRacing.com 's kit is the best price, and best quality.

Go with them... Complete kit. $460 (i.e waterpump, accesory belts, timing belt, gaskets, etc etc)
