Suspension Helpheavydc2 08-04-2004, 05:42 PM I am about to replace my Leaf Springs and Front Coils with a set of 5 leaf leaf springs and Coils to Match. I am also replacing the shocks. I should get an inch and a half lift with the new set. I bought everything through: www.wheelersoffroad.com. I have not recieved them yet so I don't really know what comes with the front coils, but is there anything I will need to worry about when I replace the coils. If I just replace the coils with they send will I mess anything else up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave Brian R. 08-06-2004, 10:57 AM If you increase the height of your truck, check the angle of the propellor shafts and compare that with the published limits. They are limited in the angle they will run in reliably. There may be other problems as well. wrigley123 08-06-2004, 12:20 PM Dave, I can't help but think that maybe you should have asked these questions before you spent hard earned money purchasing the leafs and coils. Mike heavydc2 08-06-2004, 04:06 PM Yeah, should have could have would have... LOL. Instead I will just spend the money to get what I need now. But from what I can find out, you can go up 2.5 inches without worrying about the CV. Once I get all the parts I will make sure I have everything I need before I do anything. Thanks, Dave Flash75 08-06-2004, 05:48 PM Dave, You will probably need some type of spring compressor for the coil springs. You need to also understand you can get hurt by flying springs if you aren't careful. Raising the ride height will also change your wheel alignment so you may want to take the truck in for an alignment after the springs and shocks are installed. Good luck, Clifton Brian R. 08-06-2004, 07:57 PM Use a good quality spring compressor. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
