Unbelievable/'04 Malibuwpbharry 08-04-2004, 07:54 AM Based on July sales data released yesterday, the Malibu/Maxx is now GM's best-selling car. If they could keep up the July sales pace, they'd reach nearly 300,000 units per year, not all that far from Camcord territory. Incentives must be working. Epsilon 08-04-2004, 11:23 AM If you think about it, it is exactly what Chevy and GM wanted. I remember reading an article quite a few months ago on them saying that since trucks/suv's make up about 70% of their market so far that the new Malibu is their hope on closing that gap as well as closing the gap on other automakers. I think that they have seceeded! I for one am glad I bought one, problem is that the wife wanted the Malibu and I wanted a Saab 9-3. So we got the Malibu and I love it. Only thing that I don't is that it isn't original and considered different like the Saab is (although on the same platform). wpbharry 08-04-2004, 03:58 PM I should add two minor clarifications. First, the Classic is NOT included in the #s which put the Malibu ahead of the Impala for July, and second, GM sold 3, yes, 3, more Malibus than Impalas in July, so it's really a wash. For the year, the Impala is way ahead. I'm more and more impressed with my Maxx every time I drive it. A few folks are turned off by the front end, but a few have also said that headlights placed up high are the next big thing. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
