Amount of transmission fluid?InfectioN 08-03-2004, 02:05 PM what is the exact amount (quart wise) for a 4.7 liter 2000 grand cherokee. i cant find it in my owners manual. Myrtle Beach 08-03-2004, 03:02 PM Try this site , it has alot of helpful info for the WJ ---http://www.wjjeeps.com/service/maintenance_wj.htm#TRANS InfectioN 08-04-2004, 02:37 AM hmmmm your site said to use ATF +4? my manual says to use ATF +3 what gives there? and what is the difference in "service" and "overhaul"? Myrtle Beach 08-04-2004, 09:42 AM You can use ATF +4 where 3 is recomended- ATF+4 is (apperantly)better fluid. Contact the dealership and consult them-If your manual says +3 then it would certainly be OK to use ATF+3. The +4 has been added since your jeep was built. InfectioN 08-04-2004, 09:56 AM does anyone know the difference in "service" and "overhaul"? 5 quarts and 14 quarts is a big difference. didnt know if overhaul meant that draining it, will lead to me needing 14 quarts Myrtle Beach 08-04-2004, 10:14 AM Overhaul means all the fluid is out of the system (when you rebuild or replace a tranny). There is also fluid in the torque converter that nomally does not drain out when doing a standard fluid change. I am not real sure why there is such a difference in capacity though??? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
