95 camry starting problemsjimpumps 08-02-2004, 07:18 PM Hi, My 95' camry is acting strange. Several months ago, the starter would not engage when turning the key, just a click. after jiggiling the key and taking it in and out it would eventually start, somtimes taking longer then others. I changed the battery, which showed improvment for only a few days. I removed the starter connections cleaned them and put them back on. this fixed the problem for a couple months, now it's doing it again. Also while this is happening the acouple of the radio buttons don't work as well.... not sure what to do... Joe W 08-02-2004, 09:50 PM Need a little more info for a diagnosis as these are probably unrelated. You could take it to a larger parts store and ask them to check the battery and charging system. It's free! Brian R. 08-02-2004, 11:17 PM Radio is unrelated. Your starting problem is most likely your solenoid contacts. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=166530 jimpumps 08-03-2004, 06:27 PM Thanks joe and brian, I failed to mention that i did have the charging system checked. The contacts are part of the starter, is that correct? Brian R. 08-03-2004, 08:25 PM Yes - in the solenoid vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
