Questionkayross27 08-01-2004, 09:53 PM Ok... I have a odd question/favor of someone with a 95 manual... could anyone go out and see where the car red lines at in the different gears? if not thats cool to.. jus wonderin if anyone knew or would do that. thanks! beyondloadedSE 08-06-2004, 02:50 PM Assuming its the V6, the redline is 6750 in every gear. Transaxle: MTX-75 Final drive: 4.06:1 Gear Ratio Speed (mph) 1st: 3.42 35 2nd: 2.14 56 3rd: 1.45 82 4th: 1.03 117 5th: 0.77 143 (drag limited) Reverse: 3.42 Non svt V6 are drag limited to 135 mph. kayross27 08-06-2004, 03:19 PM thanks.. thats exactly what i wanted to know.. except my car is a 4 cyc... any chance u know what it is for that? Also, it doesnt like to go into first gear.. sometimes it goes in to it no problem, other times i really have to push to get it in.. somtimes i just have to start out from 2nd.. whats goin on? beyondloadedSE 08-06-2004, 07:43 PM thanks.. thats exactly what i wanted to know.. except my car is a 4 cyc... any chance u know what it is for that? Since the zetec has a 3.8 final drive, the gears will last a little bit longer than the times posted above. I dont have the exact specs for that though. With the pre 98 rod shift trans, since all the syncros, gears, shifter forks need to be lubricated, try blurping the throttle a couple times in neutral to splash some trans fluid on the moving parts. That should help some. If you want to, Ford sells a 'honey' additive to put in the gearbox to help smoothen shifts. Part # is XL-7. It comes in a 2 ounce bottle. Only add half through the level plug. kayross27 08-06-2004, 08:03 PM So a little longer... like 5 mph longer? thanks so much! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
