something I heard about a reaction to the R35 comin' out

Hey, I just read some news that Ford and chevy are redesigning their sports cars (Mustang, Corvette) due to the GTR R35 comin in 2007... Is this true????

I doubt it. The Mustang and Corvette will both have new models for '05. There's no reason for them to have a design cycle of only two years.

Ford has the GT, so they won't have anything to worry about from the GT-R. After the GT's production run is over, there will be another more conventional supercar, perhaps a version of the Shelby concept.

Chevy doesn't have anything to worry about either. The standard C6 will have a 400hp LS2 engine, and will be very fast. The Z06 model will probably have at least 500hp to compete with the Viper SRT-10. There are also rumors of an even more powerful C6, codenamed the 'Blue Devil,' which will target the Ford GT.

Nissan can just worry about the other Japanese automakers, and some of the Europeans. I really don't think the GT-R can take on the Americans.

The US cars have relative simplicity and lower cost on their side. The GT-R on the other hand, is a technological tour de force.
