03 Eclipse, installing a rear wiperhungy82 07-30-2004, 10:23 PM Hello every1, i was wondering how hard it would be to install a rear wiper on a 03 eclipse gt. The gts came standard with this option. Has anybody here done this before? where could i find the parts for this? any info would be helpful. thanks again everybody!! ryszard01gs 08-30-2004, 10:42 AM Waaaal - I thought about it, too, since my '92 GS had one, and it was a definite take-away on the '01 Gs I have. You would have to replace the rear window, since the wiper shaft comes up through a hole in the glass. That right there turned me off to the idea. An option may be to find a GT rear hatch at a junkyard - probably cost about the same, and most likely make less work, except having to repaint. I'm sure there is a harness built in to the existing hatch, since I don't think they would have separate harnesses, but I'm not sure - never looked. The other thing that bothered me in a way as far as new vs. old, is that the '01 has drum brakes on the rear as opposed to discs on the '92. However, given the problems I had with the '92's rear brakes, it may be a blessing in disguise. My workaround for a rear wiper: Rain-X. eclipsed4utoo 08-30-2004, 11:05 AM or you could find a rear hatch from a GTS. eclipsed4utoo 08-30-2004, 11:05 AM from a junkyard that is vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
