Gas Pedal Problems

Hey all,

Gas pedal in the Blazer giving me problems. Its sticking when you first go to press on it. To get it down you have to press pretty hard and then it loosens up. Obvously when I start out I look like a bat outta hell trying to get the gas pedal down.

I've checked all the linkage under the hood and it seems all OK. Inside the rod that the gas pedal leans up against is hindged to the floorboard in a plastic coated tube/joint. In a moment of stupidity I sprayed some WD-40 on it - I know - plastic wrong move :(

I am thinking that this is causing my problem. I have no idea what this part is called and not totally sure if this was the original problem.

Anyone out there have any other troubleshooting tips or maybe a name to my suspicious part?

Look down your throttle body to where your butterfly meet the throttle body. It may have a built up of varnish on it. If it does spray with crab cleaner to remove the varnish.
