Busted torque converter *pic*65Fstbk 07-30-2004, 12:33 PM So I'm taking apart my transmission last night again for the nth time this year to find out why it won't ramp up to 3k rpm. I pull the torque converter out and inspect it. I run my finger along the inside, around the gear and look at what falls out: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/620905 The emotions that followed were: :sly: :eek7: :uhoh: :disappoin :banghead: :swear: :crying: Gutted it. The only thing holding it together was the input shaft. *edit* So I don't get busted down for not having something street race related in my post... I think I did the most damage to it when launching hard from a stoplight about two weeks ago... heard this sickening thud-crack... now I know how I did it at least. :icon16: kittedb18bt 07-30-2004, 01:54 PM thats not cool. i hope everything works out. what kinda converter is it? Ultimate X 07-31-2004, 12:29 AM thats gott suck big time but hey ill still race u :P jonnyboy9012 07-31-2004, 03:12 AM That looks ugly, have fun fixing it. micro04102 07-31-2004, 11:25 AM Nice Pony! Hypsi87 08-01-2004, 01:00 PM you gotta love it when the stator shaft falls out :smokin: is everything elese ok? 65Fstbk 08-02-2004, 12:23 PM The stator actually looked machined, as a two inch area of the shaft was completely smooth when it should have had teeth on it. It was insane looking. Everything else is fine... the car is back on the street but now I'm having to fix 2nd to 3rd flare ups. So annoying. 65Fstbk 08-02-2004, 01:29 PM thats not cool. i hope everything works out. what kinda converter is it? Sorry didn't see your question... B&M 3,000 rpm torque master. Was an expensive break, the rest of the transmission I can rebuild for like 50 dollars but the damn tc is 280 or so. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
