Hi...I'm new here and have some questions on my '02 Explorer...

1) If I get a check engine light can I read out the OBDII code without the special reader? For example, if I start the ignition while the odometer reset button is pressed will the DTC be the equivalent information?

2) Assuming the DTC of 5284 is correct...where the heck is the oil pressure switch? I bought one from my local dealer and found what appears to be the part on top of the engine block just right of where you pour the oil...however, the electrical connection on my replacement part only has one contact point versus the two on the part I'm trying to replace. Just looking to make sure that I'm looking at the right place before I return my replacement part.

Thanks!
Mike
